The Wolf Clan is the largest of the seven Cherokee Clans. The Cherokee are matriarchal with the clan mothers making many of the important tribal decisions. A Cherokee is a member of his mothers clan with marriages taking place between clans.  The print is representative of the wolf clan and life long mates.  Warriors and war chiefs often came from the Wolfclan.
