THE THREAD OF LIFE

15 x 40 inches double matted and framed in gunmetal
Cast paper edition of 100

 $ 385

The Eagle feather represents many things in Native America, at the bottom of this vertical feather is a stylized turtle representing the world or Turtle Island. The symbol on the turtle’s back is from ancient Etowah and is the world or cosmic symbol.
The Horse is included here because of the effect its introduction
had on American Indian Life.
The Buffalo once roamed the continent and was an important source of food, clothing and many utensils.
The Cougar is a solitary animal and reminds us of our individual responsibilities, and of course the Eagle is for courage.
The face in the center is Kinati (Thunder) because without the storms in our lives we cannot grow as people.
The Bear is for strength and the Wolves keep all the wild things wild.
The Red, Yellow, Black and White handprints are for the races of people.
Finally, the string of beads is for the Thread Of Life that tie all things together.
