The Cherokee Trail of Tears in 1838 -39 has been the inspiration to many Cherokee artists. "Shadow of the Owl" is probably the best known Trail of Tears painting in this gallery. " Heart of the Eagle" also depicts the tragedy of the Cherokee Removal.
